Artist Statement Work in Progress =)

Here we go! My Artist Statement.

When I work with images, I m reminded that there is so much to see. I began the piece by picking images that inspired me that grabbed my attention. I knew I was done when there wasn’t one spot on my hands not covered in marker glue or paint. When my work is going well, I’m filled with a sense of adrenaline. When people see my work, I’d like them to breathe my insight. This piece tells my story… my insight on how the world is weaved together. How different works of art play off of each other and now the rest of the world sees this interaction.

Guest Speaker

Today we had a guest speaker the curator of the new exhibition that displayed Sharon Haye's piece that included speech. Lisa Dorin really nice and I enjoyed what she had to say about her job, she mentioned that she supported artists and their ideas on their own works. I found it interesting thought that she doesn't do any artistic work herself. Over all i enjoyed the experience and look forward to being part of another one.

Sharon Hayes

Today was the exhibiton preformance for Sharon Hayes where her work was attempting at recreating history, it was interesting to see what kind of media she was using. She was kind of like a DJ of history, she was using records of politicians speaking. It was interesting and I recorded her work through a video and plan to extract some of the audio to use it in my digital collage.
Here's a picture of her doing her thing =)

Digital Sketchbook Blogs

The gallery activity was fun we got to walk around the gallery around one central theme of blue. We all got to say a word and we all collectively created a wonderful collage.Another important that took place was examples that we saw of our new project ideas, the one I liked the most was Angel.
Angel
It was interesting to me because although there was only one image there was so much to it. It almost seemed as if all the voice over was a poem. It was inpsirational and moving because of the flow of the language and also the sound effects in the background.
My prjoect idea revolves around inspiration and I copy right that idea for this project. I want to show how all the work in this museum can inspire us to further our paths as artists.

personal musuem map

So today we had the chance to go around the art institute to find images to add to our own personal are tour that we will be giving to staff in the museum. I tried picking images that had a similar theme. Although I did not have the chance to do to all 4 areas on the map to collect 4 images from each making a total of 16 images I will finish it tomorrow =)
here's some of my favorite images=)
